Care Ministry Committee

The Care Ministry Committee serves as a standing committee of the Federation. Its Mission Statement is: "To assist the Federation of Lutheran Churches by coordinating, maintaining, and delivering the following programs and services:

1. Activities Promoting Lutheran Community Fellowship,
2. Lutheran Child and Family Services (Sharing Place programs),
3. Disaster Relief, and
4. Blankets, Soap, and Non Perishable Food Collections. In recent years the primary focus of the committee has been the collection of quilts and blankets for Lutheran World Relief (LWR), though additional efforts have included the collection of soap, school kits, etc. Any church or group interested in joining this effort can log on to "www.lwr.org" for specific instructions on making, gathering and sending material aid.

For information on how to participate locally call Don Van Pelt at 317-862-5184 or e-mail at donvanpelt@usinternet.com. Storage is available for collection all year long with a major distribution event in the spring and a secondary event in the fall.
