October 14, 2007 - Mission Festival

Lutheran Multicultural Mission (LMM) is sponsoring its second annual MISSION FESTIVAL on Sunday, October 14, noon to 2 p.m., at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 9101 W. 10th St., Indianapolis. The purpose of this event is to celebrate all efforts of mission outreach among the churches of our Lutheran community and to encourage expansion of this activity.

Many churches and groups will have displays and look forward to sharing their vision and passion for kingdom service. Nate and Julie Prahlow from Messiah Lutheran will share their mission trip experiences and Rev. Udhay Raji will speak about his local Tamil Indian ministry. Also, LMM’s Pastor Samuel Ruiz will introduce his students from the Center for Hispanic Studies who are in training to assist with Latino ministry. Pitch-in food and refreshment will feed everyone present, but “soul” food will be the main attraction.

October 28, 2007 - City-Wide Reformation Service

The 2007 City-Wide Reformation Service will be hosted by St. John Lutheran Church, 6630 Southeastern Ave., Indianapolis, on Sunday, October 28, at 4 p.m. Guest preacher for the service will be Rev. Tim Sims, past-president of the Indiana District, LCMS. Reformation music will include a mass chorale joining voices from area churches adult choirs, brass, and St. John’s Handbell choir. Arrive at 3:30 p.m. and you will be blessed by pre-service music – both instrumentation and hymns.

This service is annually sponsored by Lutheran Multicultural Mission (LMM), previously known as the Federation of Lutheran Churches of Greater Indianapolis. The offering will go to support LMM’s local Hispanic Ministry mission led by Pastor Samuel Ruiz. Contributions will be partially matched by the South Marion County and Johnson County Chapters of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
