Rev. Samuel I. Ruiz is missionary-at-large to the Hispanic peoples of Central Indiana for the Federation of Lutheran Churches of Greater Indianapolis.

As missionary-at-large, Rev. Ruiz works with the 30 member congregations of the Lutheran Federation to minister to the Indianapolis-area Hispanic/Latino community as well as the Hispanic/Latino community of Jackson County, Ind. The Lutheran congregations support this ministry through the Federation with assistance from the Indiana District, Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS).

A native of Cuba, Rev. Ruiz, is a member of the Indiana Governor's Committee for Latino Affairs. Before beginning his missionary ministry with the Federation in July 2001, Rev. Ruiz served as missionary-at-large for the Indiana District LCMS, ministering to Hispanic people throughout the state.

An ordained minister of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, Rev. Ruiz earned a Master of Divinity degree in 1994 from Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.
